With ViacomCBS International Studios continuing to increase the amounto f projects in development, the media giant has just announced that a new series focused on Cristóbal Balenciaga is in the works.
The scripted series will tell the story of the Spanish fashion designer who started what is now the Balenciaga fashion house. The series will be written by Kas Graham and Rebecca Pollock and directed by James Kent. Braven Films’ Frida Torresblanco will be executive producing the series from ViacomCBS.
Production for the series is set to start in 2021, and will be documenting the life of Haute Couture’s “Master” and his elevation to the point of becoming one of he most idolized and influential designers in fashion history. Even though Balenciaga led a revolution in the fashion world via his perfectionism and attention to detail, he was also known for being very private and secluded. That being said, throughout his career that lasted half-a-century, Balenciaga had only given 2 press interviews.
This series showcasing the life and rise of Cristóbal Balenciaga is only the most recent announced by ViacomCBS International Studios’ creation of relevant and timely projects.
