Popular dating app Tinder has just unveiled their year-end user data report for 2020. The report mostly focuses on Gen-Z users of the app in order to uncover the top trends experienced in 2020.
The “Essential Trends” are headed up by the support for the BLM movement with phrases such as “If you don’t support BLM, we aren’t gonna work.” showing up on user’s profiles. The #2 trending spot included pandemic-related questions and requests in user bios, such as hygienic concerns and wearing a mask. Among Gen-Z app users, mentions of TikTok were also prevalent with the posting of TikTok handles and phrases like “TikTok famous” rising 8x over this year.
Just above political/social stances, the user data also unveils the top song selections on the dating app. The #1 position goes to Cardi B’s “WAP” with “Laugh Now Cry Later” by Drake and Lil Durk taking position #2, followed by “ROCKSTAR” by DaBaby featuring Roddy Rich at position #3.
