Following a full 16 years after the initial release, the highly anticipated and demanded mobile version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II is finally on its way.
The game was originally made by Obsidian Games, though the title has since looked towards Aspyr for this adaptation of the project with the construction of brand new touchscreen controls while maintaining the best aspects of the game, in addition to the game’s original plot. The game was originally released on the first generation Xbox back in 2004 with a PC version released at the start of 2005.
The game is set 4,000 years prior to the events of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace & 5 years following the events of the first Knights of the Old Republic installment from Bioware. This sequel centers around a Jedi called “The Exile” while was removed from the Jedi Order, yet still moves against the Sith. You can also choose which side you want to be a part of: the Light side or the Dark side of the force.
Vice President of publishing at Aspyr, Elizabeth Howard had this to say: “Fans have been asking for a mobile version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II for so long, and we’re thrilled to finally bring it to them,” she continued “We’re proud to continue working with Lucasfilm to bring classic titles like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II to modern platforms.”
For fans of the iconic Star Wars game, the mobile version of the Knights of the Old Republic II will be released for the iPad, iPhone & android devices on Dec. 18th (just in time for Christmas) selling for $15 USD.
