With the highly anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077 having just launched all over the world, the launch has inevitably caused an influx of players to various digital storefronts to download the game. This has reported caused said storefronts to experience significant issues as the surplus of players seek to boot up or download the game. The outcome of this has been that many of those players have also been unable to finish downloading the day one patch of Cyberpunk 2077 or even sync up with CD Projekt’s GOG’s cloud.
The data from Steam also shows that as of 7:30 P.M. EST shows that the service has been seeing a peak bandwidth consumption of 17.7 terabytes per second. Which is a lot of people seeking to plug in to the game. Many players re also seeing a pause in loading near the end of he 6-GB download. As of 7:50 P.M. EST it was reported by DownDetector’s Steam page that there were roughly 23,000 new reports of issues with steam.
Cyberpunk 2077 is only one of several highly anticipated games that have experienced launch issues du to massive player influx, and by the time you read this, the issues with Steam, CD Projekt and GOG will have probably solved these issues.
