CD Projekt Red, as well as Xbox and the non-profit organization Limbitless Solutions have joined forces in order to design a real-life prosthetic based on the bionic arm design of Cyberpunk 2077’s Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves).
The reports come from Xbox Wire stating that the prosthetic arms based on Johnny Silverhand will be given as donation to adults as a part of an upcoming clinical trial taking place next year. A video explaining the behind-the-scenes aspects of the project is also readily available for more info.
The non-profit, Limbitless Solutions utilizes 3D printing technology in order to create prosthetic limbs for both adults and children and are able to grip various objects in addition to performing carious gestures for a much lower price than conventional prosthetic limbs available.
The Johnny Silverhand prosthetic arm is only one of a great many popular culture-based prosthetics. Back in 2015, Robert Downey Jr. collaborated with Limbitless Solutions to create an Iron Man prosthetic limb to a superhero fan named Alex Pring.
