After a silent period for the highly anticipated prequel series for Game Of Thrones titled “House of the Dragon” an update has finally been unveiled by HBO with the newest casting announcement being the 11th Doctor himself, Matt Smith coming to the series with the addition of Paddy Considine from The Outsiders, Olivia Cooke from Ready Player One and Emma D’Arcy from Truth Seekers.

The series will be set 300 years prior to the events of Game of Thrones and focuses on House Targaryen and it’s complicated past. Paddy Considine will be filling the role of King Viserys Targaryen who serves as the successor of the Old King at the Great Council of Harrenhal. Cooke will be playing Alicent Hightower who is the daughter of Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King. D’Arcy however will be portraying the king’s first-born child Rhaeynyra Targaryen who has pure Valyrian blood with the addition of being a dragonrider. And last, but not least we have Matt Smith who will be playing Prince Daemon Targaryen who is a mad prince and heir to the throne of his brother King Viserys.
The release of the show “House of the Dragon” is slated to be released at some point in 2022, though Game of Thrones fans and get more info on the series on the HBO website.
