According to sources, the release date of the upcoming sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel has been delayed to November 11th 2022.
Additionally, Marvel also took to social media to announce that Nia DaCosta of Candyman, will be replacing Captain Marvel’s Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden for the directors seat in the Captain Marvel sequel. It has also been announced that Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel will also be joined by Iman Vellani in the role of Ms. Marvel (also playing the role in the Ms. Marvel series on Disney+) as well as Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau (who also makes an appearance in WandaVision) the daughter of Maria, Captain Marvel’s best friend.
The upcoming Captain Marvel 2 was originally set for a July 8th 2022 premiere date as a part of Marvel Studio’s Phase Four, though that particular release date has since been provided to Black Panther 2.
