Sources report that leading adult-entertainment site Pornhub has now trashed all of its unverified content from it video streaming platform. The striking decision comes after various allegations that Pornhub has been using its platform to host user-uploaded videos of child sexual abuse. These allegations that Pornhub is hosting content that is not only illegal but also damning in the public eye has led both Mastercard and Visa to start their own investigations into their business relationships with the site.
As of last week, Pornhub has deleted all videos that weren’t uploaded by members of its model program or official content partners. This brings its video content numbers from its original 13.5 million video archive to become decimated down to 4.7 million videos. The exact numbers though, have yet to be confirmed. All the removed videos have been replaced with a note that the video has “been flagged for verification in accordance with our trust and safety policy.”
Aside from the above changes, the adult entertainment site will also be revealing a new process of verification that will be launched early next year that will add a greater level of moderation. You can read more about this at Pornhub’s Official Blog.
