Gudnam Factory Yokohama’s official opening ceremony has just taken place yesterday. Following several months long teasers and tests the monolithic 1/1-scale “life size” Gundam in Japan was shown performing all of its moves alongside a musical light show.
The 40th anniversary ceremony was brought in by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino who kicked things off while standing behind the 6-story robotic wonder. Tomino stated how impressed he was by the successful construction of the Gundam in Japan and how big of an accomplishment it was. He also joked about his interest in building a life sized version of a Zaku for Gundam’s 50th anniversary. It was also pointed out by a Twitter user that at 10x speed, the video looks like the real thing.
