After Facebook outright banned President Donald Trump from their platform, Twitter is following suit with its permanent suspension of Donald Trump’s Twitter account @realDonaldTrump.
After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.https://t.co/CBpE1I6j8Y

Twitter released a statement the 2 tweets posted by Donald Trump that led to his account’s permanent suspension which read:
“The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”
“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”
The tweets posted above were deemed as falling under Twitter’s “Glorification of Violence” policy, which was concluded to have inspired or encouraged people to make the criminal actions that were conducted on the Jan 6th, 2021 Siege of the Capitol Building in Washington, DC. Donald Trump’s @realDonaldTrump account had over 88million followers and was recorded as having posted over 57,000+ times.
