The first official wheelchair accessible adventure from Dungeons & Dragons has just been released via its new sourcebook. The sourcebook titled Candlekeep Mysteries from publisher Wizards of the Coast, is made up of 17 distinct one-shot adventures intended for 6-hours of gameplay per adventure.
The adventure brings the players back to one of the oldest spots in the D&D lore: The fortress of Candlekeep. Dungeons & Dragons primary story designer, Chris Perkins had this to say about Candlekeep Mysteries: “It originated out of the need to provide Dungeon Masters with short adventures that they can easily integrate into their Forgotten Realms campaign — or into any campaign, really — that has in it a library. Each adventure is built on the premise of the characters finding a book. That book is what propels a mystery, a mystery that the characters feel compelled to solve, which then leads them on a grand adventure.”
It’s also worth mentioning that OneBookshelf and Wizards of the Coast included the assistance of freelance designers, The Dungeon Masters Guild where profits will be shared. Those who enjoy utilizing the Combat Wheelchair designed by Sara Thompson will definitely want his adventure.
The Candlekeep Mysteries will be released on Mar 16th, 2021, retailing for $49.95 USD.
