A new patent has been filed by Apple for new hi-tech glasses that unlock all of your Apple devices. Many sources have took to calling the glasses “Apple Glasses” and functions the same way that a user can unlock their MacBook using their Apple Watch.
The patent describes the glasses as “an authenticated device that is worn by a user as a head-mounted device.” The devices are only unlocked when the wearers are in close proximity to them, although it has yet to be revealed by Apple what the exact range of proximity will be. The glasses will be serving as a solution that assists in streamlining the user experience spanning many different devices via reducing the amount of unlocking needed by the user. Furthermore, apple users won’t have to deal with the issues of accidentally unlocking any of their devices considering that the Apple Glasses will require “special orientation” from the users to use the unlocking function, which may include gestures such as looking directly at the device or direct voice command. Even though the Apple Glasses are speculated to see a release later in 2021, no official release dates have been announced by Apple and not much information is presently available.
