HBO is reportedly banking on the idea to bring another prequel of G.O.T to stream on our TV screens, his time moving forward with George R. R. Martin‘s Tales of Dunk and Egg.
According to some sources, The Plot based on Tales of Drunk and Egg is in its early development. As of now, No writer or editors have boarded on the story-writing team. However, HBO is serious about the prequel’s development, given how successful the original eight-season series was.
Speaking about the Tales of Dunk and Egg, the plot is set 90 years before A Song of Ice and Fire, and follows Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and a young Aegon V Targaryen (Egg). Martin has written three novellas in the series, namely 1998’s The Hedge Knight, 2003’s The Sworn Sword, and 2010s The Mystery Knight.
HBO is currently in its production phase of Game of Throne’s first prequel, “House of the Dragon,” which stars Dr. Who’s Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower. The Upcoming series is slated to release sometime in 2022.
