With the stock of the Sony PlayStation 5 still quite limited worldwide, Players in Tokyo jumped at a recent opportunity to get their hands on the next-gen video game.
Earlier this week, Akihabara’s Yodobashi Camera got a major replenish of stock of PS5s that confused to break out when released. Being one of Japan’s largest electronics stores, the sale saw an approx 300 first come, first served ticket entries for a chance to buy a PS5. With many people also joining the chaos as the Akihabara location of Yodobashi Camera does not require customers to hold its black credit card to purchase the console, a requirement created to prohibit resellers.
The crowd that jammed into the location began to push each other, forcing checkout counters and staff to be held back. Ultimately, the local police were called and terminated the sale due to the aggressive nature that broke out amidst extremity’s state over the Coronavirus issued by the Japanese government.
