Released back in 1997 and closely partnered with Indiana Pacers sharpshooter Reggie Miller, Nike‘s Air Total Max Uptempo is set for a spectacular release in a “Bred” colorway. Pursuing the re-release of the OG “Black/Volt” makeup in December, the “Bred” takes on a similar black and red Nike Sportswear palette, one that’s a close resemblance to the colors of Miller’s greatest foil: the Chicago Bulls.
A top-of-the-line Nike Basketball sneaker in ‘97, the Total Max Uptempo still looks aesthetic today, thanks to its falling leather upper and wavy lines. Here, these pieces are covered up in black and overlaid with a black suede piece that overlaps the toebox, rises to the eye, stays, and falls back down onto the heel. Stand-out details are supplied by a large red patent leather midfoot Swoosh and a circular, chromed-out heel piece with Nike Air text. Heel tabs and tongue badges similarly serve up further logos, and a full foot red Air Max unit with a red and black outsole rounds off the look.
The Nike Air Total Max Uptempo “Bred” is alleged for a February 18 release via Nike and other retailers. The MSRP is set at $180.
