SpaceX has finally started taking Pre-orders for its Starlink Satellite internet service.
Starlink is the latest project by SpaceX that aims to provide lightning-fast internet for its consumers anywhere on the planet by constructing a network of satellites in space known as a “constellation.” There are now over 1,000 satellites in orbit, but Musk is hoping to deploy 4,425 by 2024. CEO Elon Musk has revealed that there are “over 10,000 users in the United States and abroad” so far who have already subscribed for the broadband service through Starlink’s beta-test from back in October.
Starlink cites that its service is currently “meeting and exceeding 100/20 Mbps throughout to individual users.” Those interested in joining this revolutionary service should make their pre-orders ASAP as Starlink’s website notes Starlink services will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, limited to a select number of users per coverage area. Users will need to buy a special Starlink kit — a terminal and Wi-Fi router — to enjoy satellite services for $499.
