Following the announcement of starring in Amazon’s upcoming Mr. & Mrs. Smith series adaptation alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Donald Glover is having a good time with Amazon, as the latter has reportedly signed an Eight-Figure deal with Amazon Prime.
As per the Hollywood Reporter, Glover departs from Disney’s FX after earning a multi-year contract with Amazon, which will carry his own content channel featuring his work and other curated content. His brother Stephen Glover, who co-wrote Atlanta with Donald, has also landed an overall deal with the streaming giant.
While Amazon hasn’t addressed any clear explanations on the signing, the insider news is that Glover will also in charge of executive-producing other projects for the streaming platform, with a series called Hive currently on the cards. Written by Watchmen‘s Janine Nabers, the new show will follow the plot around a “Beyoncé-like figure,” acquiring Malia Obama as part of the team as well.
To conclude, Glover’s future is destined to achieve new heights after catching a deal with one of the world’s biggest streaming-giants.
