Following a year after its original release, Clubhouse has managed to rake in over eight million downloads.
The milestone was achieved despite the social audio app still being in invite-only mode and its prelaunch stage, with downloads skyrocketing from 3.5 million back at the beginning of February to a whopping 8.1 million in the time-frame of the past two weeks, as per mobile data analytics firm App Annie. The recent spike in the number of downloads can be credited to various top name appearances on the platform, including Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk and rapper Kanye West. Of the total number of downloads, only 2.6 million were in the United States, highlighting the app’s global appeal.
According to the official figures from Clubhouse, the company refused to talk about numbers, answering that it doesn’t issue that data. Still, its CEO Paul Davison announced back in January that the app had roughly two million weekly active users at the time. Other sources shares that now estimate that the service’s registered user number could be anywhere between six to 10 million people.
