In what can be termed as the end of an era, Daft Punk has officially announced their split.
The duo, comprised of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, announced this heartbreaking news courtesy of an eight-minute video entitled “Epilogue,” which takes us into a flashback of the Duo’s most popular songs. Daft Punk’s longtime publicist Kathryn Frazier also confirmed the split but refused to explain why the group was coming to an end.
Bangalter and de Homem-Christo delivered four studio albums under the Daft Punk stage name between 1997 and 2013, with the last album being a GRAMMY winner Album of the Year Random Access Memories. They have kept a relatively low-profile on their music portfolio, partnering only with The Weeknd’s likes on “Starboy” and “I Feel It Coming” and Australian group Parcels.
