Veteran Direct Neil Blomkamp reveals that the highly anticipated sequel of ‘District 9’ is currently under-development.
Announcing on Twitter, the 41-year old director noted that he is currently planning on a plot with screenwriter Terri Tatchell and actor Sharlto Copley. Neil further put all the speculations to the rest by simply writing: “It’s coming.” It’s quite evident that Elysium and Chappie’s director is keen to finish the saga he started with a sequel, ‘District 10.’
It is important to note that with $210 Million in earnings worldwide and four Oscars awards, ‘District 9’ success ensured the creators that another sequel would surely be on the horizon. Based on Blomkamp’s 2006 short film Alive in Joburg, ‘District 9’ revolved around heavy themes of humanity, xenophobia, and social segregation through the eyes of science fiction action.
