In a mission to compete with its other social media competitors like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter is now testing out some E-commerce features on its platform. The Thought-sharing site confirmed to Tech Crunch on March 4 that it is analyzing new ways to display tweets that link out to external shopping pages.
The new e-commerce feature will display the Product Name, the Shop Name, Price, and a large shop icon to initiate the purchase. Qatar-based Tech journalist Yaseer Masood confirms the feature is currently only available on android devices. According to TechCrunch, Twitter Revenue Lead Bruce Falck said at a company conference that “starting to explore ways to better support commerce on Twitter.”
