Later back January, Paramount stated it would delay the upcoming film’s release due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Still, the production company has decided that instead of delaying it, they would move forward with the movie and bring its release closer.
Director John Krasinski, who also stars in the film, tweeted the news on Twitter: “They always say good things come to those who wait. Well… I think we’ve waited long enough. A QUIET PLACE PART II. MEMORIAL DAY.”The film’s official Twitter account also posted “Friday, May 28th” to affirm Krasinki’s tweet.
The movie will be a sequence of Part I, as “the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.”
