Netflix is looking to sign on Steven Spielberg and the Duffer Brothers, producers of Stranger Things, for their upcoming project, ‘The Talisman,’ a fantasy epic of nearly 1,000 pages co-written by Peter Straub.
As per the sources, the adaption of Stephen King will be created in a series form. Spielberg holds the right to adapt the story for 40 years, and the famous director is finally looking to transpire it to screen. “Universal bought the book for me, so it wasn’t optioned. It was an outright sale of the book. I’ve owned the book since ’82,” said Spielberg. “I’m just saying that it’s something that I’ve wanted to see come to theaters for the last 35 years.”
Curtis Gwinn, the executive producer and writer for Stranger Things, is on board taking up the showrunner and writer’s role. At the same time, King and Paramount Television will be executive producing the series.
